Series 4 E-wing (Series 4 E-wing)

The Series 4 E-wing is the newest upgrade to the FreiTek designed fighter series.  The Series 4 was designed after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion when all the galactic starship manufacturers created the most lethal starships they could design.  The speed of the new E-wing hasn't been increased at all, but it's firepower has been increased.  The heavy laser cannons of the Type B E-wing were replaced with assault laser cannons and the proton torpedo rack is now loaded with heavy torpedoes.  The hyperdrive has been upgraded to a class 1 and it has added a backup shield generator to go with the improved shield array.  With all of these improvements the cargo capacity has been reduced to less than half of the Type B.  These craft were used by Blackmoon squadron, who fought bravely in the defense of Borleias after the fall of Coruscant.  Despite all these advancements the Series 4 E-wing hasn't caught on in the New Republic military or the Jedi Order with quite the popularity of the XJ3 X-wing.
