Noreht Monk (Noreht Monk)

When the planet of Bre Damo in the outer rim was first
discovered by Duro explorers, seeking to planets to settle, thousands of years
ago, the primitive inhabitants believed they where demons sent to destroy them.
They attacked them out of fear and their civilization fell into chaos.
Eventually the Duros over came them and tried to communicate with them. They
taught several of them how to speak basic, but they refused to listen to reason
and would not believe that there could be other worlds besides their own, due to
the beliefs of their religion. All seemed lost and the Duros where ready to give
up when a young priest named Noreht claimed that he had received a vision. He
began to teach a new philosophy of enlightenment to his people and convinced
many the errors of their old beliefs. In this way he was able to establish a
peace between his people and the Duros.
So moving was the words of the young Noreht that many of his people as well as
some of the Duro settlers began to devote their lives to learning his teachings
and seeking enlightenment. As the years passed smugglers and criminals that
sought refuge on this out of the way place began to harass the monks, taking
advantage of their peaceful ways. To protect themselves the monks began to
incorporate ancient fighting styles of their people into their teachings and
soon where able to repulse the criminals and protect their monasteries. Their
doors are open to most adventurers to teach them the way to enlightenment.
